An eye surgery market research group, Market Scope, recently forecasted a 26% drop this year in the number of refractive operations (which includes LASIK surgery).
It is to be expected given the inherent cyclicality of the industry. After all, LASIK surgery is easily put off given that it is not exactly essential to most people.
But for those who can afford it, this will be a good time to consider it given that practices are certainly going to be putting up good discounts. At the same time, queues are also likely to be much shorter given the decline in demand. But remember that you still have to do your research, i.e. different types of LASIK surgery, potential complications and etc.
